Its Time To Ski sign with sky backgroundThere is nothing quite like hitting the slopes in the winter. Gliding through powdery snow down a quiet mountain can be a truly awe-inspiring way to spend a day. But what can you do if your favorite winter pastime has left you feeling like you did leg day at the gym, or worse? There are plenty of steps to take before and after a ski session that will have you ready to get right back on the lift, and ReSet Lounge is here to help!

Why Are You So Sore?

Skiing is a demanding sport that puts strain on your body in unique ways. Even if you are someone who stays active, skiing can cause a lot of fatigue and even injury. Because skiing is usually fun and exhilarating, endorphins and other feel-good hormones allow us to push our bodies past where they might normally be willing to go.

But the twisting and turning (and sometimes tumbling!) in skiing can leave you feeling worn out at the end of the day. In addition, the constrictive nature of ski boots can lead to all sorts of lower body discomfort, from sore feet to sciatic nerve pain. Those boots are definitely not made for walkin’!

Tips for Finding Relief

To begin, there are a few things you can do yourself to make your muscles happy. Check out these recovery moves for skiers. A tennis ball or even a foam roller are also handy and helpful tools to have.

However, sometimes the pain is greater, and self-care isn’t enough. There are several methods that we can explore at ReSet to help you find skiing pain relief, depending on your pain:

  • If you’re suffering from sore muscles, a Cryo T-Shock session may be just the thing. The cold aspect of a Cryo T-Shock treatment reduces inflammation, while the thermal aspect increases circulation to speed up your recovery.
  • If your post-ski trip ailments are mostly tired muscles and a few aches and pains, relaxing in a warm infrared sauna session would be ideal. An infrared sauna is much less intense than a traditional sauna, but no less effective in soothing soreness. Our infrared saunas utilize three wavelengths to penetrate the tissues at different depths. This allows the infrared waves to heal the tissues on multiple levels for optimal healing.
  • Another option: There is nothing like the hands-on care of a massage to bring us back into balance. ReSet Lounge offers a wide variety of massage techniques to meet your needs. Above all else, a massage will help you unwind, and let your muscles and your mind let go of some tension.

HOCATT™ Ozone Therapy for Avid Skiers

Skiing demands a lot of your cardiovascular system and keeping it healthy will keep you on the slopes to your heart’s content. Adding HOCATT™ Ozone Therapy is your best bet. The HOCATT™ system combines up to ten effective therapies into one treatment. These treatments improve cardiovascular function by cleaning arteries and veins, improving circulation, and maintaining healthy blood pressure.

HOCATT™ sessions will do your body a lot of good both pre- and post-ski. You can read more about the benefits of this incredible system here.
