Lifestyle Image 6When we started searching for an organic, fair trade, sustainable coconut oil product to sell in the Lounge, we found Conscious Coconut. Through them we learned even more great ways to use this healthy product that we can share!

Here are 30 uses of coconut oil. A special tip though – the melting point for coconut oil is 76 degrees, so if the oil is solid, warm the jar in an area above 76 degrees. Placing the jar near a heater, a warm appliance, or in a small bowl of warm water will do the trick.

Daily Uses of Coconut Oil

Make-Up Remover

Gentle but mighty, coconut oil can be used to remove any amount of makeup. Simply liquefy the coconut oil in your hands when it’s in its natural solid state, and gently rub onto dry skin, paying special attention to heavy eye makeup. Once your makeup has been sufficiently melted away, rinse your face with warm water and pat dry. Good as new!

Face & Body Moisturizer

Coconut oil helps to exfoliate the outer layer of your body’s dead skin cells, making your skin feel smoother and look more radiant. Apply to your dry or cracked skin to get that moisture back in!

Lip Balm

Use coconut oil to provide plenty of moisture that will prevent dryness and make your lips soft and smooth.

Ayurvedic Oil Pulling

Lessen the load of bacteria in your mouth by oil pulling with coconut oil. Swishing your smile with a tablespoon of Conscious Coconut daily will work as an oral detox and sinus savior, while also strengthening your teeth and gums. Added bonus? Expect fresher breath & whiter teeth!

Under Eye Cream

As a natural and gentle anti-inflammatory, coconut oil is an effective method for lightening dark under eye circles. It also moisturizes while it lightens to help prevent wrinkles and fine lines under the eyes.

Cuticle & Nail Repair

There is no better cuticle treatment than coconut oil. Apply a small amount on each finger, let the oil sit for a few moments, and push back cuticles as usual. Your nails will strengthen over time, too!

Face Wash

Coconut oil penetrates deep into the skin and pushes out grime, dirt, pollution and other impurities, making it a great facial cleanser.
