Combatting COVID-19 Stress & Anxiety [Our Collaboration with KJK]

The ReSet team recently had an amazing experience collaborating with Susan Stone and Kristina Supler of Kohrman Jackson & Krantz, KJK Law. Though our industries may appear to be quite different, our common interests in addressing anxiety in peoples’ lives, especially in students, brought us together. As we see the student population dealing with mental health issues, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, this discussion helped us share information about ReSet’s modalities to help alleviate stress and anxiety. Coloring: Not Just for Kids Anymore

  According to the National Science Foundation, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts. Add a pandemic to the equation and one’s mind is sure to be reeling. Fear, anxiety, stress, and isolation are the buzz words of 2020. Our brains have been in overdrive for most of this calendar year. So, how do we calm the chaos in our minds? How do we slow our thoughts and find peace within? Many psychologists, researchers and scientists believe we just need to pull out our coloring books. Breast Cancer – My Story and the Importance of Self-Care in Crisis

  Fourteen years ago, I lost my mom to breast cancer. She was diagnosed at 60, went through chemo and radiation, and was considered cancer free. Four years later, it came back in her lungs, liver and brain. She fought for another year and eventually lost the battle at the age of 66. She was too young, and it was a brutal process. (more…)

COVID’s Silver Lining – Health Awareness and Affordable Solutions

When we opened Reset Lounge ten months ago, our goal was to bring affordable Mind and Body Wellness to the community that we all love so very much! We wanted our services to support people of ALL ages; a place for the whole family. We wanted to create a community space around healthy living and self-care; both physical and emotional. We wanted to be a venue for communal activities: monthly book clubs, nutritional talks, date nights and in the eternal search of “the healthy balance”, detox/retox ladies’ nights. Our Grand Opening party was mid- January. And well….. then we’ve had the rest of 2020. (more…)

Walking Meditation: Kinhin

My success rate with traditional meditation is poor. To be honest, it’s zippo. Enter kinhin, the act of walking meditation. Stillness is not something I’m good at, so for me, a moving meditation situation has loads more potential for benefit. Not to mention it’s a real value pack: doing something physical, while being outside and meditating all at the same time? Done. Sign me up. (more…)
